Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: How can game studios implement the EU's new Double Materiality requirement?. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.
In this workshop, the SGA will kick off the first of our events aimed at educating and preparing games businesses on the requirements of the EU’s new “double materiality” concept. This will require the games business to consider both the sustainability impacts games have on the world, and the impacts a changing climate is likely to have on games businesses itself. In this first session, we will go hands-on with climate impact risk projection tools, and show how they can be used to establish the nature and scale of possible climate risks attendees’ own business may face. We will consider a small range of possible impacts, which can range from extreme flooding, to heatwaves, water stress, the changing nature and costs of energy systems, and the impact of carbon taxes. The session will involve hands-on time in breakout groups where attendees will be guided through starting the process of identifying the climate impacts both likely and unlikely facing their business, and brainstorm approaches to mitigate these risks.

And together we've planted over 150,000 trees. One tree is planted for every climate review written to an organization that is Open for Climate Dialogue™.
How does this work?
