Hertz has decided to divest all its electric vehicles in the USA

Hertz has decided to divest all its electric vehicles in the USA and instead revert to cars that run on gasoline and diesel. According to Hertz, the reason for this reversal is that Hertz's costs for collisions and damages are higher for electric vehicles – especially Tesla.
This is so disappointing. Do they think that customers can't pay for the small extra costs if that is really correct? Are they giving up on their own emission targets?
Last year Hertz said it was cheaper, now it is more expensive? I would like to know who is pushing for this bad decision. Is it maybe oil companies that have invested in Hertz? What is going on?
All companies with Net Zero targets should abandon Hertz because of this decision, and green investors should de-invest.
For me, it's a mystery and completely unserious how the company first says that EVs significantly increase Hertz's profits, only to sell all EVs a year later and invest in old gasoline and diesel cars because they now are expensive!?
Hertz, I will never rent your cars anymore!

This shows a stark lack of ambition and courage from Hertz, which is not what we need to see in the corporate sector right now. A big disappointment.

Abandoning EVs contradicts Hertz's stated emission reduction goals. Also this undermines their commitment to sustainability and sets a negative precedent for other companies with similar goals.

I am sure Hertz will realize that they are loosing customers due to this decision at a time when EVs are becoming popular especially with young people. They should get ready for a boycott of their rental cars.

This is disappointing! Hertz's decision to divest its electric vehicles can hinder progress towards promoting sustainable transportation and contribute to the wider issue of climate change.

Their decision is one of the greatest down fall that will eventually yield negative outcomes, they should instead hasten the swift production of EVS.

This decision by Hertz seems short-sighted, especially considering the push for sustainability and the increasing demand for electric vehicles.

@walter_lungayi completely agree. Hertz's decision to divest all its electric vehicles in the USA appears shortsighted, given the growing demand for sustainable transportation &the importance of reducing our carbon footprint.
