#Iowa experienced unprecedented #flooding in June 2024, receiving an astonishing 381 mm of #rainfall in just 48 hours! The Little Sioux River broke its 1953 record by 2 feet, and the Des Moines River in Humboldt County surpassed its 1969 mark by a foot. A dam breach on the Rock River submerged Rock Valley, causing damage to 500 homes and prompting the evacuation of 1,500 residents. Governor Kim Reynolds declared a disaster in 21 counties, describing the situation as catastrophic.
The reality of climate change is undeniable and dangerous. It's time to bring together scientific minds from around the world to establish a Global #catastrophe Alert and Rescue Service. The #survival of humanity depends on it!
