Supporting Amazon communities through agroforestry

Agroforestry is a very exciting solution where farming communities are supported into planting and conserving trees that provide them with produce. This is a solution to preserve forests in a way that helps and supports local communities and lets them make use of their natural resources.
Idesam, or the Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazon, has worked for over 16 years with rural producers, traditional communities, riverside communities and indigenous peoples in the Amazon to improve upon the social and environmental challenges that impact them.
The organization has placed themselves as one of the most impactful NGOs in the Amazon, and by partnering with companies and other organizations they can accelerate their work in supporting local communities in the Amazon as well as the climate.

This is a good thing since agroforestry helps to reduce the impact extreme weather like droughts and floods.
