Post 927: February 25th, 2022. Oceans are priceless to us and all life on Earth, but even by just looking at the amount of gold found in their depths, they are incredibly valuable.
.
Fact: There is an estimated $771 trillion worth of gold particles floating throughout the world's oceans. While these flecks are there and ready for the taking, they are extremely tiny. Each liter of seawater contains just 13 billionths of a gram of gold, and with the ocean holding more than 1 billion trillion liters (you read that right), extracting the gold is an insane undertaking. But if there was a way to cost-effectively filter it out, the gold's value would be more than 33 times that of the United States' GDP, or 8 times the global GDP (GDP values as of 2020)!

I kind of agree, mainly because the ecological impact of scrounging the ocean for gold would be too great 😕
And together we've planted over 150,000 trees. One tree is planted for every climate review written to an organization that is Open for Climate Dialogue™.
How does this work?
