Bill Gates pledges $1.5 billion to climate projects in the infrastructure bill. This is the type of effort needed from the private sector to quickly develop and scale technology that will contribute to reaching Net-Zero.

Direct air capture (DAC)
Green hydrogen
Long-duration energy storage (LDS)
Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)

That sounds a huge amount but it’s less than 1% of his net worth. Who of us wouldn’t give more than 1% to save our planet? There should be a hefty emergency climate change tax on each and every billionaire.
