Re-using phased-out EV batteries in energy storage systems

In a world-leading innovation pilot, autonomous vehicle manufacturer Einride is repurposing batteries from within the company’s fleet of heavy-duty EVs as second-life battery energy storage systems (BESS). The initiative will see phased-out batteries shifted to a stationary setting at Einride Smartcharger Stations, where they can store renewable energy and support more cost-effective charging.
