Partnering with India : massive cleanup (75 tons of plastic) followed by state announcement : plastic free by 2027!

Parley of the Oceans has partnered with the Government of India (the state of Andhra Pradesh). In Visakhapatnam, an Indian city, known for its many beaches, including Ramakrishna Beach, is launched the project "Parley India", kicking off with a record breaking beach-clean up and signing ceremony with Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. In close collaboration with the government, environmental groups from the region and volunteers (22 000!), they cleaned 24 km total length of beaches. " Together, we are aiming at ending the plastic crisis in Andhra Pradesh, the beautiful ocean facing state in the south-eastern coastal region of India with a 974 km long coastline --- by forming a statewide network of up to 750 Parley A.I.R. Stations which serve as community centers where up to 20,000 Parley Ambassadors inspire and empower local communities, activists, creators, scientists, inventors and businesses to end the plastic crisis by implementing the Parley A.I.R Strategy with its three pillars 'Avoid', 'Intercept' and 'Redesign'. " Says Cyril Gutsch, founder and CEO of Parley for the Oceans. This is a beautiful example of what collaboration can bring to the table. Parley for the Oceans is a nonprofit environmental organization that focuses on protection of the oceans and already had partnered with key actors since years, such as Adidas for which they created circular products. Such beneficial partnerships should be happening often as they have a positive impact on the fight against climate change... Let governments and organizations work with SDG 17 in mind as together we are the solution to the climate crisis

@peter_kamau indeed, very promising to what governments and NGO could do together. Imagine then if governments would also help businesses working for a better planet!
