The BL England Generating Station in New Jersey, known for its towering smokestack, has been demolished to make way for offshore wind farms. The demolition paves the way for the site to be used as the connection point for several of the state's planned offshore wind farms, which will power local homes and businesses. Although the project has faced opposition from some residents, much of the infrastructure to plug offshore wind into the power system already exists, making it a logical site for the project.
