Bangladesh floods leaves several dead and millions of people affected

Devastating floods in Bangladesh resulting from relentless monsoon rain and overflowing rivers has caused deaths of several people with many families left stranded. As floodwaters recede slowly, millions of affected people remain isolated and in urgent need of food, clean water, medicine and dry clothes, above all in remote areas where blocked roads have hindered rescue and relief efforts. The flood conditions could persist if the monsoon rains continues, as water levels are receding very slowly.
