OceaNet has invented a new innovative trawling net supported by AI to benefit the ocean by mitigating the harmful effects caused by bottom trawling. This product will provide a more circular economic structure for fishing. The AI component will support minimizing both bycatch and destruction of the bottom structures such as corals. Additionally, pollution would be further minimized by reducing the amount of time fishermen need to spend at sea. Furthermore, this would also assist in the regeneration of nature. By destroying less benthic life and causing less bycatch, these threatened species would be allowed to reproduce and regenerate.
