Since mankind first learned how to use an axe, the world has lost half of its trees. That’s 3 trillion trees. It takes 20 years for a tree to reach full maturity. Forest fires are raging across the planet burning down millions of trees each year. The permafrost is thawing and forests that are there are sinking into the ground destroying them as well. There is no known way to stop the thawing of the permafrost. The Arctic is expected to go ice free this decade. So by all means plant your trees. It’s just extra kindle for the ever increasing forest fires.
