A 2-hectare forest will be cut down by BNP Paribas Real Estate

In the French city Noisy-le-Grand, a two-hectare forest home to endangered species is threatened by BNP Paribas Immobilier which intends to build housing there.
The project aims to raze the 22,200 m2 of wooded area and replace it with an 8,000 m2 pond and green spaces, according to the Direction régionale et interdépartementale de l'environnement, de l'aménagement et des transports (Drieat) Île-de-France. This future "eco-district" is primarily intended to accommodate some 450 housing units.

The issue? Well, this will make disappear one of the very few forests around Paris and directly threatens its rich biodiversity and century-old trees! According to two studies carried out by the Ligue pour la protection des oiseaux (LPO) d'Île-de-France and by the association Rassemblement pour l'étude de la nature et l'aménagement de Roissy-en-Brie et son district (Renard), the forest is home to trees over a hundred years old, as well as numerous protected and endangered species. The LPO counted 24 bird species, 15 of which have established the wood as a breeding ground.
How could one think of building and "eco-district" by destroying rich ecosystems???

@ajema_lydiah Banning of deforestation should be a pivotal driver to achieve what we anticipate for.

It's important for companies to consider sustainable practices and environmental impact in such situations.
