The Mediterranean region is warming 20% faster than the global average. The Mediterranean basin is struggling against environmental problems as well as climate change and drought. In this area, where global warming is accelerating faster than in other regions, many basic necessities, along with food security, are in jeopardy. According to the European Commission (

/.../resources/…), the sharp decrease in precipitation has led to the danger of drought and increased water shortages in Italy, Greece, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Iberian Peninsula. As temperatures rise, the Po River in Italy, which is used to irrigate local crops such as rice and corn, is drying up. Severe forest fires in Greece, France, and other countries in the region are also negatively impacting the ecosystem. The lack of cooperation on environmental and climate issues among Mediterranean countries is a problem complicating the efforts to find solutions. #GlobalCrisis #Mediterranean #Mediterranee #weather #TuesdayFeeling #Tuesday #tuesdaymotivations #TuesdayMotivaton #tuesdayvibe #TuesdayPeace #ClimateCrisis #climatescience #climate

This alarming trend underscores the urgent need for targeted climate action in the Mediterranean to address both immediate and long-term challenges to food security and environmental stability.
