Today is the International Day of Forests. Healthy Forests for Healthy People! This year's theme for the International Day of Forests is "Forests and Health." It calls for giving, not just taking, because healthy forests will bring healthy people. Forests give us so much to our health. They purify the water, clean the air, capture carbon to fight climate change, provide food and life-saving medicines and improve our well-being. Extensive research demonstrates that use of Forests contributes to reducing stress and promoting more positive moods and feelings. Sustainable management and use of forest resources are key to combating climate change, contributing to the prosperity & well-being of current and future generations. It's our collective responsibility to safeguard our forests. In this International Forests Day, it is important to acknowledge the great impacts that trees have on climate protection. It is estimated that a single tree absorbs 25Kg CO2 per year from the atmosphere which is released as Oxygen in exchange.
