I agree that Grindadrap, the tradition of killing pilot whales & white-sided dolphins, is barbaric and must end. These practices are inhumane and unnecessary!!⚠⚠

It's always very sad to read about this :/ how was it to be there? Have you talked to the locals and do you think there is a possibility for this practice to disappear?

@sarah_chabane_874 Yeah i talked to some locals. It's very hard to change, there is no political will. I think EU could end it instantly. Because whaling is forbidden in EU, Faroes are part of the EU in some way. And they are highly dependent on trade with EU and support from Denmark. For many locals it's tradition, and we are foreigners, they wont listen to us. They just keep going with it as it's part of their identity. And their kids are visiting slaughters from the age of 0 years, it's so normalized to them, they don't understand why there are some people who protest against it.
And together we've planted over 150,000 trees. One tree is planted for every climate review written to an organization that is Open for Climate Dialogue™.
How does this work?
The Climate Action App
We plant a tree for every new user
Welcome, let's solve the climate crisis together
Write or agree to climate reviews to make businesses and world leaders act. It’s easy and it works.
