African Startup Building Stronger Communities with Better Electricity
"How can we use technology to improve lives and understaffed communities?"
Hazel Akinkyi, Managing Director of VAULTe who are providing infrastructure via the "forgotten mile initiative". This includes providing electricity infrastructure, a vital component of sustainable goals. It's an entirely DIY infrastructure, meaning every community is able to build it out without foreign help, making it far more sustainable and manageable.
As she shared on her Dragonfly's Den pitch on We Don't Have Time today (11th of November), Hazel related how they were able to build a new infrastructure with a single community almost entirely independently.
The hope is to create a knock-on effect that will allow for other industries, economies, and practices to flourish without forcing these communities to wait for foreign to make this happen!
