California Gov. Gavin Newson signs law requiring big businesses to disclose emissions
California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a new law, SB 253, which is the most comprehensive of its kind in the nation. It mandates that over 5,300 large businesses in California making over $1 billion in annual revenues must disclose both their direct and indirect planet-warming emissions. This includes emissions from operating buildings, employee business travel, and product transportation. Advocates argue it will increase transparency and encourage emissions reduction, while opponents, including the California Chamber of Commerce, agricultural groups, and oil companies, claim it imposes burdensome reporting requirements, possibly duplicating federal standards if implemented.

This is very good plan to keep tabs on the amount of emissions that are being emitted into our atmosphere.Such data can be used in future like reference.
