The Sheriff’s Office of Nevada County, Cali. teamed up with Hospitality House and over 60 volunteers to help clean up nine homeless encampments in the Grass Valley area earlier this week. With the help of volunteers, the teams were able to fill two 40-yard dumpsters and three 6-yard dumpsters. In roughly five hours, the crews removed almost 100 yards of waste from the area. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office began the cleanup after learning about illegal camping bordering the city and county. The sheriff’s office invited city and county property owners to listen to their concerns and solutions. Those who were camping in the area were offered shelter and housing services from Hospitality Hope. The people who volunteered were homeless residents who were receiving shelter at Utah’s Place and people on probation who wanted to help. WM, formerly Waste Management, donated five dumpsters to the clean-up. https://www.waste360.com/waste/nevada-volunteers-clean-almost-100-yards-waste-homeless-camps

It's great to see volunteers taking action to clean up waste from homeless camps in Nevada. It's important to remember that homelessness is a complex issue, but efforts like this can make a significant difference in improving the living conditions of those experiencing homelessness. It's also a reminder of the impact that individual actions can have on the community and the environment.

I hope that this cleanup will inspire other communities to take similar action to address the issue of homelessness.
