Is it possible to channel the resources to the causes of the issues?

11 million USD is literally nothing in the budget of Italy and they come too late. Why not try to tackle the cause of climate change instead of its terrible consequences? The extreme right leader Giorgia Meloni is treating environmental action as a nationalist issue and not as something that we globally need to tackle, she pretends to be a climate leader but she has criticised the EU Green Deal and named it "climate fundamentalism", she is pushing for more "natural" gas, and she also has no real plan to reach the 2030 emissions reduction targets

@sarah_chabane I wish this could be a wake up call to her mandates and more so for the sake of Italy people. And plans for the EU. All leaders must have a guiding plan toward reduction of Emissions. Thank you for highlighting those points and letting us know. She should do better then!

11 million USD is a too small sum, a joke almost. But it’s in the right direction. 👏

@Mats_Nilsson Really a small sum??

@rosebellendiritu yes, it's peanut. Italy spent $30.3 billion in 2023 on military spending.

@sarah_chabane Thank you for enlightenment. Then truly this is a peanut.

This should be like "hit nail at head to all leaders". Am wondering which more signs are we waiting as a country to act more aggressively towards the issue to do with climate change all over?
•
•
77 w
Well done @Meloni, the world leaders should join forces together to find a long lasting solution to save the world, time to act is now!

Meloni is all about the effects of climate change not the causes. Hopefully she and her government will also work toward lowering emissions and transitioning to more renewable energy.

•

@lucinda_ramsay I agree we should address the causes too so that we can stop the acts that contribute to climate change
