Tomteland in Mora Sweden recently announced they will completely stop selling bottled water to help the environment. “To produce one liter of bottled water takes 300 times as much energy and emits 300 times more carbon dioxide than if you take that water directly from the tap” When the quality if the tap-water is excellent there is no need for plastic bottled water! Nice initiative Tomteland. Read more (Swe): https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=6017608614946630&id=110224539018430&ref=page_internal

As Tomteland (small disclaimer: The Enlish name of the park is Tomteland and not Santa Claus Land) is a land of fairytales our inhabitants are trolls, fairies, dragons, gnoomes and so on. They all have a big mission to teach the humans to take care of mother earth and make them see that we belong to the nature – that we and the nature and the animals belong to each other and need each other. In all adventures (musical performances) taking place in the park we talk to children (and their adults) about our messages; the importance to take care of the nature and the animals, because the nature and the animals can not protest. We also talk about taking care of each other, that it is important that we are different (different is good😊and also, to take care of one self. To belive in yourself and know you are fantastic and wonderful just the way you are. These are our messages to our young audience and from that we take action. We, the Collett family (me and my husband and our three children) who runs the park try to do our best to inspire people to make a change. Through our performances and activities in the park, we try to make people to discover and feel that they belong to the nature…We belive that if you feel you belong to the nature it is easier to change behavior and do good things for the environment… With this project we also challenge other amusementparks to stop selling water in bottles. Other things we do to teach and inspire is making children plant flowers to help the bees. In the Fairy kingdom the fairies teach the children to plant a flower they can take home and plant outside their house… We are a small amusementpark in Sweden but we belive we can do something, we all can do something….. because we don’t have time!

Happy to hear, and as @sarah mentioned, the tapwater is drinkable everywhere in Sweden. There is no reason to sell bottled water

It's a cold strike on plastics and the relenting war on their production is ever on. All I hope to hear and probably see in the near future is a company like coca cola blow the final whistle on use of plastic bottles and bring on board sustainable alternatives and have others follow that trail.
