As the heatwaves swept the country, wildfire won the news coverage most of the time, Dozens of Americans are dying in the West and millions are sweating under heat advisories, the Republicans seem to think climate change is not a problem.
“Global warming is fine. In fact, I heard it was going to be very warm today. It’s fine.”
As the Republican Party opens its national convention in Milwaukee with a prime-time focus on energy party on Monday night, the party has no plan to address climate change. Instead, it encourages more production of oil, gas, and coal. “We will DRILL, BABY, DRILL,” it says, referring to oil as “liquid gold”.
The greatest threat to humanity seems like a joke to Mr. Trump: dismissing the scientific evidence of sea rise, never admitting there is a climate crisis, and laughing at Biden’s environmental effort as dumb.
According to a May survey by the Pew Research Center, 61% of Republicans said the country should focus on developing more oil, gas, and coal.
Project 2025, a lengthy manual filled with specific proposals for the next Republican administration and led by the right-wing think tank, Heritage Foundation, calls for erasing any mention of climate change across the government. If Trump gets elected in November, democracy together with the fight against Climate Change will be in danger: the US will be the only country that withdraws from the Paris Agreement. He will remove the country altogether from the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change which created the 2015 Paris Agreement. The federal funds that are helping the poor countries’ clean energy transition will end. The federal research into Climate Change will slow or disappear….
Despite nearly three-quarters of Americans saying the government must prioritize global warming, “Power dominance” is always the priority for the Republicans.
Is it really for the prosperity of the United States?

The citizens ought to be very careful when choosing leaders who is benefit them and not the other way round.

Ignoring climate change for fossil fuel expansion is reckless. It jeopardizes the planet's future, undermines global environmental efforts, and dismisses the overwhelming scientific consensus. We must prioritize sustainable solutions for true prosperity and survival, not short-term gains.

With the kind of heat the US is experiencing due to climate change... they should think about the kind of leaders they need so as to bring about significant change.

@jane_wangui they really have to make a wise difference and make a change. Even Biden keeps on drilling oil in offshore and onshore sites while hiding behind the green agenda. The US requires serious planning to stop this problem.

The fact remains that despite their denial, the catastrophic effects of climate change are being experienced by all.
