Climate warning

The government has failed to meet any of its goals and a "step change" in policy is required, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate shift (CCC).In order to deal with the consequences of climate change, the government has adaptation strategies, which are evaluated by the CCC.
The Committee on Climate Change (CCC) is a non-governmental organization formed by experts to advise the government on the climate problem. The government isn't treating adaptation seriously enough, according to Baroness Brown, chairwoman of the CCC's adaptation sub-committee. This country's recent experience "stands in stark contrast to the government's lack of urgency on climate resilience," she said.
England has experienced a spate of severe weather events over the past few years, with climate change presumably playing a role.

Climate change: England not ready for impact

The government's advisers urge a "step change" in climate adaptation policy to avoid an increased risk to life.
