The leaked information suggests that McKinsey, a major consulting firm, advocated for fossil fuel interests during a climate summit in Nairobi, hosted by President Ruto. The firm's alleged association with oil giants Exxon Mobil and Saudi Aramco is revealed in the leaked documents. Critics argue that McKinsey's involvement, including the drafting of a controversial letter, raises concerns about companies leveraging conferences to promote their fossil fuel agenda, prompting scrutiny and criticism from climate activists.

My greatest concern is how such resourceful enterprises can't venture into clean and renewable energy which can still make them margins

@johnte_ndeto the selfish nature of this enterprises must be trimmed.

It's important for companies to participate in summits and conferences with genuine intentions, rather than solely to push their own agendas.

@walter_lungayi companies must have pure intentions when they attend environment conferences, having enterprises with hidden agendas is dangerous to our environment.

Companies should address the needs of society and the improvement of the environment.

All companies must prioritize sustainability and environmental protection over their own interests and profits.

Such a high level of hypocrisy ... If they know oil deals ain't bad why do them in secret they should be totally ashamed
•
•

Genuine discussions at these events should focus on sustainable practices and broader environmental concerns rather than serving narrow interests.
•

It's up to the official parties of such a conference to address that. The companies do what they do, if it's outside the law then you oust them. Let them be public about it. And call them out indeed. Staying away would only result them to do it under the table.

@jehannes_ros I agree, this companies must be called out and never should they be given a chance to be part of environmental conferences unless they prove beyond reasonable doubt that they've abandoned their selfish desires.

@joseph_githinji thatenot what I said. Every company should be able to participate, yet also be set in the light if there intentions are really wrong. The cancel culture is not useful. Political correctness also isn't.

Hypocrisy is a disease that companies, industries and political leaders must seize. Its sad for delegates of a climate conference or summit to go against the very same policies made in this congregations.

@joseph_githinji like how some people and organisations did during the Cop 28. They were just there for show.
