Climate warning

The polluters must be made to pay for the damage they are causing 🌍💰

Fossil fuel companies are profiting from the destruction of our climate. For instance, while climate records are being broken every month and the world is burning around us, fossil fuel giant BP is making big profits. It highlights the urgent need for a windfall tax to ensure that polluters support a transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
The UK's current windfall tax is too low and full of loopholes that let companies keep drilling for oil and gas. Instead of addressing the crisis, the government talks about climate action one day and awarding new oil and gas licenses the next day!
“Those who are arguing against higher taxes on polluters are not only out of touch with public opinion, they are keeping us tied to an energy policy that is costing households the earth while paving the way for the even greater destruction of our climate.”, says Mark Ruskell MSP, Scottish Greens climate spokesperson.

The UK parliament must make and pass legislation to have polluters pay.

It's about time appropriate action is taken to hold the various companies responsible for their pollution for a better tomorrow for everyone.

Disappointing to see the UK authorities allow loopholes is such an important regulation that is set to aid in reducing pollution.

The armed forces shut down the slave trade and can shut down the fossil fuel trade too.

Indeed they should. People and companies need to be held accountable for their actions

Yes, they should be fined heavily for the damage they are causing our mother nature and the people too

The current windfall tax is a joke, and governments need to stop talking big about climate action while cozying up to big oil and gas.
