How we can make environmental communication more effective

When talking about environmental issues, environmental activists and environmentalists assume that people will change their behavior when they are informed about the benefits of new behavior.
This is not always true, as humans are not only rational and many other factors are important as well.
Other factors include someone's values and attitudes, social and personal norms, and how a message is framed.
Taking these 5 tips into account is a good and low-cost start to make your climate action communication more effective:
1. Taking your audience into account
2. Considering how you say it
3. Referring to social norms
4. Changing psychological distance
5. Leveraging useful biases
