Call for Nominations for the Equator Prize 2025 – putting nature and Indigenous People at the center

The United Nations Development Programme announced the call for nominations for the Equator Prize 2025.

If you don't know about this prize, I assure you: you will love it. So what is it? The Equator Prize is a prestigious award recognizing nature-based solutions led by Indigenous Peoples and local communities that promote sustainable development and ecological resilience. Basically, it celebrates those who lead the way in protecting our planet and its people to build a more inclusive, equitable, and resilient future for all.

With special consideration given to youth and women-led initiatives, the prize centers around 2 main themes: Nature for Climate Mitigation, Adaptation, and Resilience, and Nature for a Just Transition.

If you have a project that qualifies, the nominations are open until February 23. I'm really looking forward to reading about the initiatives that will win this year's prize!

Who do you think should apply for this prize or deserve to win it? I'm curious to read about all the cool initiatives that exist in the world, so write a comment on this review and nominate someone on the Equator Prize website👇
