‘Liberalising dams will address flooding, enhance Nigeria’s hydropower offering’
If I were to offer advice to the current government and the Minister of Power on how to tackle the challenges in the power sector, I would emphasise that the primary issue plaguing Nigeria's power sector is liquidity. This problem permeates all aspects of the industry, including generation, transmission and distribution.

Nigeria is one of the many countries in Africa that gets heavy rains, for them to harvest the water from the rains could be one the best things for it will also ease floods too.

This is a positive step towards meeting the energy demands of the country. Water is a vital resource for hydroelectric power generation, and increasing its availability can lead to a more sustainable and stable energy supply.

I agree with you, lots of water go to waste especially in the global south. If there is more mechanism to harvest this water, it can be much more productive in other useful ways.

Harnessing excess water for electricity production and domestic use is a smart climate-resilient strategy. It not only mitigates flooding but also promotes clean energy and water sustainability. Let's work towards a future where electric transport and climate adaptation go hand in hand. 🌊⚡🌍 #ClimateSmart #WaterForAll"
