FAIR Plastic: The key to recycling the remaining 70% of plastic

We have a massive problem with our plastic recycling system. Traditional plastic recycling technology requires the plastic material to be clean and uniform in order to work - and as it turns out, only a small proportion of the plastic we throw away fulfills these criteria. In Denmark, the proportion is 30%, which leaves around 200,000 tonnes of plastic waste that cannot be recycled every year. Ragn-Sells are working to solve this problem. These 200,000 tonnes are left to be incinerated or sent to landfill, causing emissions, or even worse, polluting nature, which in turn creates the need to produce 200,000 tonnes of new plastic from virgin materials, causing emissions. This is a gigantic waste of resources and a source of unnecessary emissions. Our FAIR Plastic granulates are made of recycled plastic from the unclean, mixed portion that is otherwise wasted, and have a grey tone due to the mix of colors from the plastic that is recycled. We want to make it profitable to reuse this type of plastic in order to unlock a massive amount of material that is already present in our system. By using the FAIR Plastic granulates to make plastic vessels for waste collection, we can already collect nearly 60% of all the plastic the Ragn-Sells Group manages. In partnership with major Danish brands like Grundfos and LEGOLAND, we have started creating the first products from FAIR Plastic, and we are looking to do even more. Let us know if you have any ideas for what kinds of products could be made from this new material!

So encouraging to hear! I believe there are endless possibilities using this recycled product in everything from food containers to outdoor chairs, waste bins, toys, devices in the industry, agriculture etc

The solution to get all plastic in the right place...look to Los Vagas where sanitation on the strip is top priority, people are paid to sort trash and the pay is so darn good people fight for the jobs of sanitation workers. ....or bonuses for citizens who fully recycle, free garbage but still you would have to have sanitation sorters. This is a program perfect for a large government grant. We don't want the central park solution everywhere. We plant and play in that soil....ewe....help keep dirt free from waste don't bury the problem , sort it out!

Plastic welding with recycled waste. Toys break, gaskets need minor cracks filled, nonload barring items, waterproof a squirter gun ....it actually works. A sober gun or hot knife and crafting gets a new star. Melted plastic can actually work as glue but hardens depending on any additives waterproofing heck you can even spot weld automotive parts like footboard, engine covers etc...watch out 3M you have some competition coming. Seal a leaky headlight, kids want to be an auto junkie like dad welding cars....plastic weld dye cast models with just like dad tools big wheels yep he can work on his rig while dad works on his. Bonding moment and good old fashion hard work that actually fixes a minor fender bender in the big wheels. Motocross all sorts of nessesary easy fixes give plastic a new job instead of a problem make it a fix! I would definitely add that to my craft bin.

The solution proposed by Ragn-Sells to recycle the remaining 70% of plastic is innovative and impactful. By developing FAIR Plastic granulates from the unclean, mixed portion of plastic waste that is otherwise wasted, they are finding a way to unlock a massive amount of material already present in our system.

This could be a massive development to make sure that recycling is a more valuable action to take as an individual! We need to make sure that the plastic that goes to recycling is actually recycled, it's really bad that's not the case already so I'm happy to see that Ragn-Sells has a solution to make it happen.
