How about Climate Justice demanded by the Global South? 🌍
__Hi!
I welcome you to join a different kind of discourse on climate justice, where the vulnerable people in the global south (the ones in rural remote areas, that don't have access to climate facts) are offered the climate science. They understand their pain best. Not the rest of us who are removed from the struggle. We cannot speak to their pain. Their voices should be heard loudest in the fight for climate justice ✊🏽
Climate awareness in sub-sahara Africa for example is hardly existing. The understanding that fossil fuel use is the reason for floods and droughts is lacking. Yet, there are 700 million people in rural sub-sahara Africa that would be a great asset in the scaling of climate action 🌳
Global south governments should not find it an option to wait till next year for another try at a loss and damage finance facility, or for adaptation funds, at the next COP. There are communities, natural and cultural assets, domestic and wild animals that will in that time, be lost. They will not be spared in the long wait for consensus 🌵
There needs to be a better course of action that involves the factual understanding of climate change and training on regenerative work. So that we create a pathway that ensures true climate justice for the vulnerable. Their voices are the only voices that matter. Without them no justice can be had ✊🏽
