These companies should face full force of the law and be held accountable, they should be fined heavily for the damage they have caused the planet

Companies dealing with fossil fuels should consider using alternative ways of sourcing energy as most of them have enough resources to go green..

The role of the courts is to ensure that we all have a place we can take our collective concerns and have them heard and prosecuted. Good job by the Chicago state

This lawsuit represents a step towards holding fossil fuel companies responsible for the environmental damage they've caused. I hope it sets precendents for holding this fuel companies accountable.

@george_kariuki Yes, and it is where we keep pushing for Ecoside law because for everyone who will engage in harming the environment will be taken to the court and noted as crime person

I will certainly feel better when more cities take on this approach. These fossil fuel companies feel so powerful and untouchable, and that is why they commit the atrocities we have now become accustomed to. Greenwashing and market manipulation via public misleading will not be allowed to stand

@dickson_mutai Yes, a few class action suits will have these companies begin to tow the line and follow the laws set. When their finances are hurt, they will understand how to operate within the guidelines expected of all people.

The Chicago has taken a prodigious step to sue the companies which defraud the public. Companies should be banned completely from fossil fuel!

This is a good step taken by Chicago to sue the companies which are misleading the public .This companies which are still on fossil fuel should be banned once and for all .Other countries leaders should also sue companies which still engage on fossil fuel

@felix_mokaya This should be a catalyst to other countries since the fossil fuels companies are everywhere harming the environment

@felix_mokaya It is more about operating within the confines of the law than it is about engaging in the fossil fuel industry. By law, fossil fuels are legal, and unless countries pass resolutions to outlaw them, these companies will stay operational as long as it is legal. What Chicago is asking for is transparency in their dealings with the citizens, which is the bare minimum a company should do without even having to bring up Corporate Social Responsibility.
