Satellite constellations helping us to fight climate change.
When we think of efforts to minimize climate change, we normally imagine wind turbines, solar panels, hydrogen, and electric cars. A lesser-known but very interesting part of the fight against climate change lies within space technology.
Satellite Vu provides the world’s first satellite constellations that measure the thermal footprint of any building on Earth in near real-time every hour or two, which help to increase the energy efficiency of worldwide infrastructures such as factories and power stations. Indeed, this informs town authorities and business leaders about energy loss hotspots in buildings and waterways.
Satellite Vu actively wants to affirm its commitment to sustainability by becoming one of the first major space companies to share their carbon emissions data publicly in a drive towards our environmental goals.
The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) has also developed a compact satellite called MethaneSat which monitors methane reductions on the planet, with more accuracy than any other satellite.

If real time carbon footprint data could be provided to the relevant agencies and made public,I believe we'ld have a substantial and reasonable real time point of reference to bring every party to book in a bid to ensure that everyone stays within the regulated emission levels. This tech is a step closer to providing solutions to the climate crisis nightmare.

Yes, satellites are so important for us to understand climate change. This is a great initiative!
It is so sad to know that we've polluted space so much that satellites are now under threat due to all the space debris...
