In 2022, The New York Times conducted a GHG emissions inventory to catalyze the process of setting an emissions reduction goal. Inspired by their recent report, NYT set a public goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2030. This goal encapsulates their scope 1 and 2 emissions and the NYT will begin publishing their emissions reports in 2023. Though there aren’t any clear pathways mentioned publicly to reach this lofty goal, I am looking forward to seeing what kinds of strategies will be implemented and what initiatives will come from this that may inspire others to follow suit. https://www.nytco.com/press/the-new-york-times-company-announces-pledge-for-net-zero-carbon-emissions-by-2030/

That is an impressive net zero emissions goal for 2030! It is great to see NYT taking the initiative to reduce its emissions and setting an example for the rest of us to follow. I am excited to see what strategies they deploy to reach this goal.
