Ohio's Big Move to Solar Energy: Painesville Retires Coal Plant for Solar Farm

Painesville, Ohio, is set to retire its century-old coal-fired power plant and replace it with a new solar farm and battery storage system. This initiative is part of a $4.3 billion federal investment in clean energy projects. The solar farm will be built on an old chemical plant, including a 35 MW solar capacity and 10 MW battery storage. The project aims to provide cleaner energy and reduce emissions and also includes the creation of a wildflower meadow and a bike trail to connect Painesville with a regional trail along Lake Erie. This transition promotes environmental sustainability and enhances the local community's quality of life.

If only such projects were to actually be implemented they will surely bring about change sooner.
