Bringing climate discussions to (and from) the poorer neighborhoods

People from working-class neighborhoods are among the most vulnerable people when it comes to climate damage. And yet, they are usually forgotten in public discourses and decisions or are portrayed as not caring about the climate crisis.
"To say that the working classes don't care about the climate is a mistake, because "you" don't know how to talk to them." Feris Barkat, founder of Banlieues Climat, says to the French radio France Inter. By you, he means the media, the politicians, etc.
That's why he created Banlieues Climat, an association that aims to unite, raise awareness, and inspire people in working-class neighborhoods on environmental and climate issues, to bring their voices and local projects into the public debate and empower them.
Today, Banlieues Climat is involved in many working-class neighborhoods throughout France, to raise awareness of the environment and the ecological transition and to support local projects.
I love seeing organizations working to bring climate justice to the public agenda!
