Food prices that reflect the product's environmental impact?

The German supermarket chain Penny has (temporarily) increased the prices of some everyday consumer products to reflect their environmental impact. As a result, the price of sausages and yogurts has doubled, while the extra cost of vegan cutlets is just €0.14.
This temporary "true cost" initiative is taking place in conjunction with academics from the Nuremberg Institute of Technology and the University of Greifswald. It is a way for the company and scientists to open the debate on the "true cost of the effects on soil, climate, water, and health".
Penny's additional revenues will be donated to a foundation dedicated to helping farmers make the ecological transition on their farms.
What do you think about this "true cost" initiative?

This is one way of doing things... I commend this type of action as it will reduce the purchase frequency of commodities that harm the environment by consumers
