Recycling of waste plastic is an essential measure to stop indiscriminate dumping of the same. Theoretically, we can have a waste plastic free world if the rate of generation of waste plastic and rate of recycling of waste plastic are same. The rate of generation of waste plastic increases with increase in generation of plastic products. If we use more then we also discard more. If we continue to add virgin plastic products then the capacities of thr waste plastic recycling facilities are required to be enhanced at the same rate. Unfortunately in reality that is not happening. The rate of generation of waste plastic is soaring but rate of recycling of waste plastic is not increasing at the same pace. As a result a huge quantity of plastic waste is dumped in the environment. Six out of seven G7 countries (Canada, Germany, Italy, France, UK, Japan) earlier were ready to support curbing global production of virgin plastics but there was an impasse because virgin plastic producing nations wanted that the virgin plastic production capacity should be determined by individual countries and, therefore, no capping should be imposed. USA also earlier opposed this idea of capping the virgin plastic production capacity worldwide but now US has shifted position. This is a significant shift. It may be the first step in freeing the world from heaps of waste plastic. Gratitude for sharing this important piece of news.

Considering the kind of pollution that is brought about by plastics..we should come up with a permanent solution to deal with the plastics.

Recycling plastic is crucial for reducing environmental damage and can lead to a waste-free world if generation and recycling rates are balanced.💚
