Environmentally friendly sponges from 100% jute yarn

I have been annoyed for quite a while with today's sponges for cleaning:

most are made of synthetic materials. This means that when we rub, small synthetic particles end up in and harm the environment.

That's why I have researched environmentally friendly alternatives from natural materials, and this is my favorite:

I crocheted this one from 100% jute yarn. I love it!

Unlike synthetic sponges, which can take hundreds of years to decompose, jute sponges offer an eco-friendly disposal option.
