Ground monitoring tools

We are developing a ground monitoring tool so we can see the impact at a granular level when looking at paths, not only for walkers, but for cyclists and horse riders as well. We have already made a video about the impact of horses on peatlands, and the word is getting out. This is a specific tool and measured against voluntary impact on economic sustainability. We hope to start testing it in the north of Scotland in early October. The ground is made up of layers, we show a cross section here. Not all land will have all of the layers, but depends on drainage, especially in coastal areas.
