💚 NEW SOLUTION can radically reduce water consumption in the process industry 💚
In the process industry, there are often many pumps that are lubricated with sealing water.
Enormous amounts of water are used - which then often just run down the drain.
The Finnish company Flow Control has developed a solution based on a closed system, SealCooler, which only requires 8-9 liters of sealing water and guarantees that the seal works.
- Now water consumption can be radically reduced. It saves both the environment and energy, says Timo Huhtala at Flow Control.

A typical paper mill can have hundreds of pumps in operation – and these require enormous amounts of water.
- A paper machine can have 100 pumps. A pump typically uses four liters of sealing water per minute. If the pumps run 24 hours a day for 30 days, there will be over 17 million liters of water in a month. All this sealing water is released into the sewer and causes a huge waste of resources, or it can be completely or partially purified in a separate facility and brought back into the system as new sealing water, at huge costs and high energy consumption, says Timo Huhtala.
