What is the life cycle approach and how can it help tackle plastic pollution?
Central to any solution to plastic pollution is a concept known as the life cycle approach
15/10/2024 – Later this year, negotiators will meet in the Republic of Korea for a fifth round of talks aimed at developing a legally binding international agreement to end plastic pollution.
The talks are designed to help tackle the growing toll that plastic pollution is taking on the planet. Every year, the world produces around 430 million tonnes of plastic, most of which quickly becomes litter. This rising tide of plastic waste damages fragile ecosystems, fuels climate change and can result in human exposure to harmful chemicals.
