📰 Yesterday the Stockholm Environment Institute presented its Currents for 2022 identified by their researchers. A good summary of what could happen and what should happen during this defining year when it comes to environmental issues.
The 7 currents:
> Moving the climate agenda from promises to accountability
> Debating the commodity super-cycle
> Ending the threats to environmental defenders
> Deploying net-zero technology at warp speed, private and public sectors collaboration and regulation
> Redefining climate finance and justice, moving from poverty aid to reparations for harm and damages
> Making a just transition from fossil fuels to a new economy
> Increasing risks for violent conflicts in Africa due to climate change
I recommend you to watch the discussion, which includes Isabella Lövin, Sweden former Environment Minister and Wanjira Mathai from the World Resources Institute.
