Heating is a big emitter of carbon, consuming half of the energy we need globally. Solar collectors can provide this heat renewably and without carbon emissions. Absolicon is a Swedish company providing solar collectors in a scalable and efficient way, aiming to drive down emissions from heating globally.
Joakim Byström presented the solar heat solution Absolicon on the Exponential Solutions Stage at Techarena ZERO.
“Heat is half.” This statement from Joakim Byström, CEO of Absolicon, refers to the fact that half of the energy we use globally is heat. Heating our homes and powering industrial processes are major causes of energy consumption.
Fossil fuels are typically used to generate the temperatures needed, but Absolicon has developed a solution: a parabolic solar heat collector that concentrates heat from the sun up to 160°C. These solar collectors are already installed in everything from breweries to household chemical factories. This is only the start, however – Absolicon is looking to scale fast by not selling solar collectors directly, but instead selling robotized assembly lines that can deliver one solar collector every 6 minutes.
Watch the full presentation from the sold-out Techarena ZERO below to learn more about this innovation and how it can provide heat for buildings and industry all year long.

Absolicon is absolutely right.. Unlike fossil fuels, which deplete resources and increase carbon emissions, solar thermal harnesses a clean, abundant energy source to meet heating demands for industries, buildings, and communities.
