Carbon storage, course at Bonnagard Getinge 23 okt 2023. Important activity to support and like. We need more of this.

There is too much carbon in the air and too little carbon in the ground. By bringing together organisations and businesses who want to pay for carbon storage with farmers who want to engage in carbon storage and soil improvement measures, we ensure that agriculture becomes a carbon sink. The IPCC’s future scenarios where we succeed in counteracting climate change include a transformation of agriculture, from a carbon source to a carbon sink. If we are to stay below the 1.5-degree limit, a long-term transition to agroecological, carbon-storing and regenerative farming methods is required – a food system within the planetary boundaries.

How is your soil? Good soil health is essential for healthy, strong crops and good harvests. It is also important for the crop's ability to cope with drought and wet conditions.
The course alternates between theory and practice. You learn to read how your soil is doing and how to make it feel better.
You will be able to do sod tests on different fields and use the Swedish Agricultural Agency's app "Hur mår min jord".
You will learn about brix measurement and doing infiltration tests.

I couldn't agree more with you! This initiative and the SOIL HEALTH course at BONNAGARD are both excellent examples of how we can fight climate change through regenerative agriculture.

Bringing back the atmospheric Carbon to Soil carbon is a double victory. It reduces the chances of potential warming while simultaneously, it converts the air toxics to crop boosters and enters in food chain with positivity.

This is a significant step! Carbon storage is a critical component of mitigating greenhouse gas emissions & reducing our collective impact on the environment.
