In celebration of the Independence of our Country-Nigeria, I and members of Eco-Green Africa teamed up with our partners to clean up the Crush Rock Lake Mpampe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKWDVnoNCZs It was also a World Clean Up Activity by Eco-Green Africa Crushed Rock is an abandoned quarry in Mpape, Abuja, the capital of Nigeria. The quarry was opened in 1977, just a year after the decision to relocate Nigeria's capital to Abuja from Lagos. During the 1980s the quarry provided much of the stone for the construction of the new city. The quarry was closed in 2010 ...it got flooded, forming a Quarry Lake. It became a tourist location with no proper planning for the management of activities in and around the Quarry Lake.
