North Korea: Kim Jong-un calls for urgent action on climate change

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un called on his officials to deal with food supply issues and highlighted the danger of climate change. Typhoons last year badly impacted vital crops, while weeks of drought followed by heavy monsoon rains have damaged them this year as well. He said measures to overcome "abnormal climate" were needed, and asked also officials to tackle drought and floods https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-58431010

This is great news, this shows that the issue of climate change is a global concern that affects everyone regardless of political ideology or geographical location. It is important for world leaders to work together to combat climate change and protect our planet for future generations.

This is a positive step forward in addressing a global crisis that transcends political boundaries. It's encouraging to see leaders, regardless of their political affiliations, recognizing the severity of climate change.

In this statement, Kim Jong-un emphasizes the pressing issue of climate change and its impact on North Korea. He mentions the adverse effects of typhoons and erratic weather patterns on food supply, highlighting the urgency for addressing these climate-related challenges. He calls for measures to mitigate the impact of this "abnormal climate" and requests officials to take action on droughts and floods

@richard_s China is dominating imports to North Korea, but exports from the country are a little more mixed. Again, China is the biggest player with a share of almost 70% of North Korean exports destined for the country.
