Scotland’s pledge to cut emissions by 2030 are no longer credible

Scottish government has continued to delay its climate change plan and it stands little chance of achieving its ambitious climate goal by 2030. The UK climate change committee has warned it no longer believes that the government will meet its goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 75 % by 2030 since the measures needed to achieve the target are no longer credible. The climate change committee has accused the government on failing on ambitious goals and urged it to focus on hitting the target. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/mar/20/scotlands-pledge-cut-emissions-by-75-by-2030-no-longer-credible

Scotland must refocus efforts on concrete strategies to meet targets and prioritize effective climate action. Let's continue to push for robust climate policies and hold governments accountable for their commitments to combat climate change.

It is imperative for Scotland to reassess and implement robust strategies to regain trust and effectively address climate change challenges within the given timeframe.

The Scottish govt is being unaccountable to pledges it made and changing goalpost as they wish which is very wrong.

@rotich_kim the government is essentially betraying the trust of its citizens and neglecting its responsibility to safeguard the environment.
