Parks Canada has issued a stark rebuke to Ontario's plan to open up sections of protected Greenbelt land for housing development, saying the move risks "irreversible harm" and that proper consultation on the proposal has not taken place. Housing is a valid concern. However, cutting through a protected area does not help anyone in the long run. An alternative need to be sought after.

This should not be allowed at any cost,the greenbelt safeguards the vital resources that clean our air and water and it ensures that there' is greenspaces to explore.
