Pabbler's post

'That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind' Neil Armstrong. At logistics it is not easy to save carbon footprint, especially in air transport. Thanks to London Business School, we realized that if we can optimize the luggages of the travelers we may have a big opportunity to have an impact on reducing carbon footprint. Therefore, at Pabbler, we are renting the empty parts of the luggages of travelers who are already heading to the destination country. (We only accept items from vendors, e-commerce sites or businesses to prove the security of the products that are planned to be carried.) Our main mission is to diminish the need of air cargo by carrying the items with travelers and transform the the recurring method to crowdsourced international delivery. Even through out Pandemics we reduced 1,31% of air cargo need, which helped us save around 192 trees. We just started and have 15.000 travelers around the USA, EU & UK. Exactly! Also with passenger delivery we can get the empty boxes back and reduce one of the biggest supply of logistics. Still according to our meetings via Air Plane companies, we learnt that the legal capacity that a traveler can carry with themselves are already under limits. Therefore our algorithm matches the items with the travelers not only depending on the custom regulations but also aviation regulations too. Since #wedonthavetime we want to do our best!

I don't really understand how reducing the need for air cargo helps save trees... but this is a great idea nonetheless!

@marine_stephan Thanks for your kind comment. We are only renting the empty part of the luggages of the travelers who are heading to the destination country, therefore we are aiming to diminish the need of air cargo for parcel deliveries. Our main mission is to diminish 25% of the total air cargo CEP (courier, express, parcel) delivery need between EU & the US.

Zero logistics is the need of the hour for reduced carbon footprint. As you mentioned pandemic, luggage logistics and cost incurred were huge. Also We have capped the quantum of luggage we allow to get in but not on externalities. If we crowd source it will pressure markets as well as place onus of logistics on Air port Authority. Package to dispose will not work, Package to reintroduce will work. Empty parts as you mentioned-what with segregation and time logistics? D time consumes lots of time and puts pressure on Air port staff when net time saving works zero-carbon means zero waste, zero emission zero creation of the product which we know us a nuisance. Its like cutting a tree for a bad paper?
