Greenpeace Volunteers Cut Plastic Waste at Taipei Event

Greenpeace volunteers in Taipei joined reusable foodware providers to reduce plastic waste at the Taoyuan Children’s Art Museum’s outdoor markets. Over four weekends, they successfully eliminated more than 4,000 pieces of single-use plastic foodware.
Volunteers educated visitors on the benefits of reusable foodware, guided them through the process and worked closely with food vendors. Their efforts made the event more sustainable and also showed that large events can greatly reduce their environmental impact.

One time use plastics should be done away with if not recycled so as to reduce pollution by plastics.

Greenpeace volunteers in Taipei made a significant impact by partnering with reusable food ware providers, reducing over 4,000 single-use plastics. Their educational efforts and collaboration with vendors demonstrate a practical approach to sustainability, setting a strong example for similar events. We endorse this plan in totality.

@walter_lungayi It goes to show what can happen when the people work together towards a common goal. The communities are our best way to mitigate effects of climate change in this world.

@rashid_kamau It would be absolutely brilliant if we could firstly, end the use of single use plastics and then we could work towards changing the dynamics of how plastics are produced and used.
